Book Review Spotlight - Gypsies, Tramps and Weeia by Elle Boca

 

 

 

 

Gypsies, Tramps and Weeia by Elle Boca is book one of the Weeia Marshals series and a wonderful addition to the entire Weeia collection.

I have read each book in the Weeia collection and love this new story line as well as the new protagonist, Danni. I adore the fact that Ernie from the previous Weeia series is a large part of the latest story. Although I still miss Amy and the gang from the original series, Ms. Boca has done a wonderful job of breaking out into a different direction with this latest edition.

Paris as the setting for a Danni as a young cadet trying to prove her worth to the Weeia elite is an excellent locale for this story. Danni is wonderfully developed and is both likable and a person the reader can root for to succeed in her new assignment in France and her Weeia missions while there. She is rough around the edges, but time in Paris may just soften her up a little bit ... If Weeia leader, Patrick and her boss, Francois have their way, she might even wear a dress one day.

Looking forward to the next book in the series as a beta reader as well as a fan of the very talented Elle Boca.

 

 

Book Review Spotlight - Unelmoija:Paradox by Elle Boca

Unelmoija: Paradox by Elle Boca is the last book in the Weeia Series and in my opinion, the very best one in the Weeia collection.

In this latest novel, new characters are introduced and several characters from the previous books are expunged - some more nicely than others.  Amy and Kat are back in Miami, but this time with their grandparents from Maine helping them through the premature death of their mother. Duncan and Amy are still a couple in love and work well together in life and in all things Weeia.  Vlad and his father, Klaus come back on the scene to cause major troubles for Kat and Amy along with the possibility of further human casualties if Amy cannot convince Klaus to change his devious plans. After many dead ends, Kat and Amy finally enlist the help of their father (the Enforcer for the Weeia) and a suspenseful, thrilling ride ensues that takes everyone on a wild and dangerous journey.

From the previous four books, topics and events are brought back to the surface and questions are answered about Amy's ever-growing super-human powers. Amy has many abilities and all become honed to help fellow Weeia and humans alike. Aside from her other abilities, time travel becomes a very real option for Amy and her family when all else seems lost.  Most all of the loose ends from the past installments of the series are tied up quite nicely and come together in a surprising ending that gives the reader a tremendous amount of closure to the series as a whole.

If you have read the entire series up to this point, you will not want to miss Unelmoija: Paradox!

Book Review Spotlight - Unelmoija: The Spiritshifter by Elle Boca (Weeia Book 3)

Unelmoija: The Spiritshifter by Elle Boca is another wonderfully written installment of the Weeia series.

It begins where the second book leaves off with Amy and her boyfriend, Duncan along with Amy's sister, Kat at a Weeia conference. Unfortunately, a death occurs while they are at the conference and the three young Weeia see the body before the Weeia Elders alter the scene. What looks to be a "natural death" of a fellow Weeia named Loi becomes a mystery worthy of being solved by Amy and her friends.

After being ushered out of the room, Amy dreamshifts back into the room where Loi's body is and tries to determine what the actual reason is for her friend's death.

From what Amy can find out, Loi was an "amplifier" and one who can assist other Weeia with strengthening their abilities. Amplifiers are rare and Amy soon discovers that she may be one as well. This puts her life in danger once more and she is determined to uncover the true story behind Loi's death. On this journey, she, Duncan and her sister, Kat discover much more than who killed Loi (and why).

As the story unfolds, Amy must stay under the radar of the Weeia Elders and what better way to do that than to be the lead singer in a band that will be playing at the Weeia Youth Conference? Right under the noses of the Elders, Amy hides in plain sight. This was an entertaining subplot in the book.

Although book three of the series is lighter than the first two, it still has many suspenseful and thrilling moments. The characters are maturing quite nicely and coming to terms with their multitude of abilities.

This latest book does stand on its own, but I would suggest that the reader read the first two (Unelmoija: The Dreamshifter and Unelmoija: The Mindshifter) before this one.
